The Mentalist review

Posted : 14 years, 8 months ago on 11 April 2010 06:30 (A review of The Mentalist)

The tagline shouldn't be "Simon Baker is The Mentalist". It should be, "Simon Baker is a sexy beast". Then EVERYBODY would watch it, coz its true...

Seriously Good

Posted : 14 years, 10 months ago on 9 February 2010 08:59 (A review of The Lovely Bones)

I really, really loved this movie. I only just saw it yesterday (I've been meaning to see it since it came out) and I came out feeling absolutely blown away.
All of the performances were fantastic and it was visually beautiful.
It's true that they could of cut out some of the 'in-between' scenes and had more of the reality.
I also have read many reviews that have been really harsh saying that it couldn't make up its mind as to what it wanted to be, but I think that's the beauty of it. I cried, I laughed, I was on the edge of my seat for most of it.
I'm really disappointed at the (Oscars) Academy for not giving the film much attention, except for Stanley Tucci's Supporting Actor performance. But we all know he won't win, it already belongs to Christoph Waltz!

Bring the tissues

Posted : 14 years, 10 months ago on 18 January 2010 05:08 (A review of Ghost)

This is a great classic chick flick from the 90s. The story of two lovers who are torn apart by tradgedy is truly heart-wrenching. Woopi is fab as the crazy physcic lady, she provides the comical element to the film. Bring the tissues cos this one's a tear-jerker!

Best Australain Film. EVER!

Posted : 14 years, 10 months ago on 14 January 2010 09:14 (A review of Australia)

This beautifully made film is one of the best Aussie films made in years. Take it from me, I'm an Aussie! Hugh and Nic show that they aren't just two of Australia's best actors, but the world's. Baz has writen a fantastic movie about love, loss and war. The standout for me though wasn't just the georgeous scenery, but Brandon Walters who played the young aboriginal boy Nahlah. Absolutely fantastic.

Posted : 14 years, 10 months ago on 14 January 2010 09:02 (A review of Avatar)

This movie is magical. I was still stunned by it's beauty 2 hours after leaving the cinema. The colours that are used for the Na'vi and their world are absoluty breathtaking. Also the story is very appropriate for now and what's going on in the world. Definently Best Picture material. Mr. Cameron, You've done it again!

Team Mr. Orange!

Posted : 14 years, 11 months ago on 11 January 2010 02:43 (A review of Reservoir Dogs)

This is an awesome film. It's not just a film for guys, I mean, I love it and I am a female. It's one of those films that is unique and rare that it's good. It's also one that grabs you so you don't forget it. Ever. As I said in my title, I love Tim Roth as Mr. Orange. He is so cool! :)

Flightplan review

Posted : 14 years, 11 months ago on 11 January 2010 02:37 (A review of Flightplan)

Man this movie is confusing, but in a good way. It really makes you think, "Is this woman really crazy or is she telling the truth?" Jodie Foster was really good as the 'crazy woman'.

Mr. Holmes is in da house

Posted : 14 years, 11 months ago on 11 January 2010 02:35 (A review of Sherlock Holmes)

Wow. Orignally I was not going to go see this film because I had seen some really bad reveiws of it. But then I had also read some good ones, so I ended up going, and it was AMAZING! It's an adventure ride from begining to end and I love the newly sculptured relationship between Holmes and Watson. Bromance anyone? See this if you want to be taken on an awesome thrill ride!

Love It! Love It! Love It!

Posted : 14 years, 11 months ago on 11 January 2010 02:31 (A review of Finding Neverland)

Oh my God. I totally thought this film was going to be sooo boring and the only good thing would be Johnny Depp and Kate Winslet, but it so wasn't!
It was AWESOME! Again, AWESOME!
It's was so interesting to learn how Mr. Barrie got his inspiration for Peter Pan and what his life was like.
A great movie (with Johnny Depp looking really gooood), and also a bit of a tearjeaker, so bring tissues!

Totally Boss

Posted : 14 years, 11 months ago on 11 January 2010 02:26 (A review of Juno)

Juno is a punk, whitty and awesome teenage girl. Except for the fact that she is, uh, expecting. Full of awesome oneliners and also ends up being a great moral story, Juno is the best Teen Film in years.
